Top Mommy Blog Update: Some of my dear readers said they were not able to actually rank MIP at this site, so the DSL kindly changed the button to a banner that will allow you to rank my site when you click on it. Please feel free to do that! I won’t stop you. 🙂 It should be to the right of this post.

Last week’s Word of the Week (WOW) was recondite. The daughter and the DSL think it has something to do with observing something. I’m afraid that Merriam-Webster wouldn’t agree. The word has 4 definitions there as follows: not understood or known by many people; hidden from sight; difficult or impossible for one of ordinary understanding or knowledge to comprehend; of, relating to, or dealing with something little known or obscure. Based on their definitions, my keys are recondite so often that I probably need to hire a permanent detective to locate them.

This week’s WOW is cock-a-hoop. This could be a dangerous WOW. But here goes for my guesses:

cock-a-hoop: (kä-kə-ˈhüp, –ˈhp)  1. a rooster fond of wearing hoop skirts (noooooooo comment). 2. Beretta’s cockatoo’s exclamation of delight when he’s just solved another crime 3. the position of MaryAnn’s embroidery hoop while watching TV

What’s your guess for this crazy word? Go here to submit a guess!
